Topolino’s Terrace Breakfast Review

Topolino’s Terrace Breakfast a la Art with Mickey and Friends is the newest character meal to hit Walt Disney World and after just one visit this meal has shot to the top of my list as one of my favorite character meal experiences.

 

One of the best parts of Topolino’s character breakfast is that it’s not a buffet. I’m not the biggest fan of buffets but I love character meals so I usually endure them because my love for characters definitely supersedes my dislike of buffets.  I also find buffets for character meals super stressful. You always have to watch your table to make sure that you don’t miss a character.  Thankfully Walt Disney World has been moving away from the character buffets with a lot of their newer character dining options and I think in a post Covid-19 we might see the end of buffets in general.

Let’s get down to some basics for Topolino’s breakfast.  Topolino’s Terrace is located on the top floor of Disney’s Riviera Resort.  Even if you’re not staying here this resort is pretty easy to get to.  It’s a resort on one of the Skyliner lines so it’s very easily accessible from all of the other Skyliner resorts (Pop Century, Art of Animation, and Caribbean Beach Resort). If you are staying at any of the Epcot area resorts you can walk to the Skyliner station right at the World Showcase entrance of Epcot, were were staying at Disney’s Dolphin Resort so we did this.  You could also take a bus from your resort to Hollywood Studios and hop on the Skyliner there.  I think you get my drift that the easiest way to get there is via Skyliner (or take a Lyft/Minnie Van).

The menu is a prie fixe menu that begins with shared pastries for the table and coffee and juice. You can add specialty nonalcoholic and alcoholic drinks as well for an additional price (or if your on the dining plan one specialty drink is included). I will say that my one slight negative experience here was that I choose to order their floral mimosa which was $2 more than a regular mimosa but tasted and looked pretty much the same. so lesson learned there.

Both Peter and myself were super happy with the food choices and quality. The menu is heavily inspired by the Mediterranean so you’re going to see a lot of fresh greens with the egg dishes and some other sides you might not find on many American breakfast menus. We did see a few families around us struggling with what to order.  I really hope they don’t change anything about the menu. We thought it was delicious and also filling but not heavy, which I think is hard to find at Disney sometimes.

 

I ordered the Quiche Gruyère and Peter ordered the Croissant au Jambon.  Both were excellent options to start the day and honestly I still think about that quiche sometimes. You can check out the full menu here.

It’s not just the food that made this dining experience awesome. The character interactions and waitstaff service was also top notch.  The restaurant is not tiny but by character dining standards it’s pretty small which leads to way less wait time and better interactions with the characters.  We also had two great servers who really went above and beyond to make us feel special. Also, any place where you get to meet Daisy is worth it and their outfits are too cute!

I’ve been asked a few times if I think this meal is worth the cost and I 100% think it is even though it is a bit pricey.  It’s $42/adult and $27/children ages 3-9, which is a lot if your paying out of pocket. I do think between the location, food, and character experience it’s definitely worth doing this meal, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion.  If you are on the dining plan breakfast here is only 1 table service credit and you should book this meal without any hesitation. I think the value is pretty great especially if you add two alcoholic beverages to the tab. For all you annual passholders out there they do give you an AP discount.
